Thank you, thank you Josh and T.A.D. You guys are the bomb!

I've been waiting a long time for this to come in.

This thing is built like a tank. Makes all other folders look anemic by comparison. I used to think that my Sebenza was overbuilt but it's nothing next to the AR.

Hollow ground, tiger stripe, dual thumb stud, number 068 is now mine!

My only wish is that it had a different thumb stud. The one that is on there is a little hard for me to operate. Oh well, I'm not complaining, I love this thing!

Thanks Strider for a great folder, there is nothing else out there that even comes close :D

Put one small O-Ring on the stud then you got everything you want. :)

Can't wait!! Mine's coming soon!!

Joe, great idea with the o-ring. Gotta try that...hope it doesn't melt in the desert sun...

Joe -Good idea for using an O-ring. I think I have one around here somewhere...I'll give it a try.

Carpe Noctem - The blade is well worth the wait. Simply awesome. It has just replaced all my daily carry folders. Hey, were you the guy that asked me about taking Sayoc lessons from Colin Ryan?

Few more questions for the AR Owners:

What do you guys use to lube the knife?

If I want to use the knife for food prep what do you coat the blade with to keep from rusting?

How do you clean the folder, it doesn't look like I can take it apart for cleaning?

Any input is appreciated. Thanks,

S.

I just got the AR, but I use Breakfree on the pivot of mt GB. I also rub a coat of BF over the blade after cleaning with soap and water. I've taken the GB apart. Fortunately, i didn't need a special spanner for the pivot bolt. It just unscrews with the allen wrench and tightens up when tightened.

These folders are definitely the "hardest use" folders made.

I cant wait to get a GB with the full bevel grind. I want to replace my emerson SOCKF and use the GB as an ever day carry. But Im broke like a joke. How do you guys like your ARs and GBs, new version. Are they sharper than the SB.1 (Buck Strider). I wanted to carry the SB.1 as an everday but the tip dont get sharp enough.

Matt

I've got a TOPS CQT Magnum...the only folder I've handled yet that is fixed blade in strength.

Now I need a Strider...damn...gonna go broke. They look awesome!

Then I see Mick's reply to the guy who's "not gonna buy one."

And I said to myself, that's the maker who's knife I need to own! Tells it straight up -- no chaser! Whoohoo!

Best,

Brian.

Hey there,
Use break cleaner for cleaning. Shoot it into the action. Work it a little. Blow it out if you have air. It doesn't matter if you don't though. It drys fast.

Use olive oil if you use the knife for food prep. Otherwise it doesn't really matter. Anything you have will work.

I agree Mick.

I use break cleaner on all my knives- works great! (Just a note of caution, if your knives have any plastic parts, like BM's back spacers, the break cleaner will start to disolve the plastic. Just another reason why knives shouldn't have plastic parts  ).

Just got my first Buck Strider (LG BG-42 Spearpoint)...wholey **** is this thing built! Anyway found a rubber "o" ring and man what a great idea..give it a try....

I would like to give credit to Joe Chen for the "O ring" idea!

I was never really happy with the amount of purchase my thumb had against a Large Buck Strider Tanto stud. I went to the hardware store and bought a 0.19 cent solution.

A 9/32 X 5/32 X 1/16 O-RING #61. This is just the perfect size for the Buck collaboration thumb stud. It fits perfectly in the "groove". Plus, when opened, it looks neat with the accenting black handle.

Great idea Joe Chen!!!
