Just wanted to let you all know that I got a new 3/16" CG BA3 today from Strabs (Thanks mate:)). It's a little heavier that I expected but thats okay. I think it will perform well as my mid sized camp/work knife.

Will post more about it when I've had more time to test it out.;) Though I think it will need a SJ or SH for a play mate.:D

Glad you like her wildman!

I think a Steel Heart would be a great addition to the family;)

:D

This weekend I went to my mom's house and got to test out my BA3 a little bit.

The first test was a tang test (I do this to all my hard use knives). I slam the spine against a log rather hard a few times. Then slam each side of the blade a number of times then chop with it a little. Next I stabbed the knife into the log and also slammed the butt into said log. The BA3 took that quite well and the coating was un affected.:)

Next I did some chopping on another log. The BA3 can do it, but it's a lot slower than my H.I. Khukuris and there is noticable shock to my hand. It's good to know it can do it. After that, I trew the knife into some 2x4s, the log and the ground to see how well it would do. It survived but the coating near the tip has rubbed off a bit and is smooth along the edge. Has some charactor now which I like.:)

The edge came very sharp. It wasn't ground even though. The right side of the edge is ground more than the left. And both sides are flat ground. Is this normal?

Do to the exposed tang, the handle can get much colder than I'm used to. Nothing a pair of leather gloves can't fix.;)

Now, I really want to try out a larger Busse.:D

Congrats WildManH! Sounds like you're enjoying it!

Busse Combat blades. . . . Abuse 'em or Lose 'em! ;)

The BA3's had the Busse Asymmetric edge, this is intentional. If you do a search on this forum for asymmetric or asymmetrical you will get a lot of info.

Glad you like it

Yeah Jerry, I am enjoying the knife. All of my knives are users so this one will definantly get used quite a bit. So it won't be lost. But it might losse some of the coating.:D Once I got used to it, I quite like the handle shape and size also I really dig the color. My sister even likes the color.:)
