Just got 3 knives today : a CARA CARA G-10 , a TENACIOUS and a KERSHAW LAHAR.
I like all all them as they are big knives, they fit good to my big hands. From all the LAHAR is the most impressive and feels rock solid.

Regarding the CARA CARA G-10 I was surprised to notice that its weight is only 4.4oz - 126 gr. instead of 5.6 oz or 166 gr.
What could be the explanation
Also , the clip is black !! while the pic of the package shows a silver one...
I don t like these at all.
The heavier a knife is the better for me is ;)

The older Cara Cara's were thicker and did not have skeletonized liners, weighing more.

Thank you Vivi. Well, that's a pity ! Which is considered to be the good version : the old or the latest one ? Or it's up to everybody's prefference ?

Its up to the individual but I would think most people would prefer lighter weight. 5.6 oz is kind of heavy for EDC. With the skeltonized liners you don't sacrifice any strength but gain a lighter weight.

I edc'd the original for over half a year and I much prefer the newer ones. The older I find ever so slightly more comfortable in the hand because of the wider handle, but the new one feels balanced more evenly and carries noticeably better. The newer ones also tend to have better fit and finish from the ones I've seen.

I am glad that at least the TENACIOUS has a silver clip...
I was expecting too see TAIWAN on its blade but it appears CHINA.
I am not an expert but I can see the fit and finish of TENACIOUS handle being a bit better than the one of CARA CARA ;)
Both knives feel absolutely great in hand, no doubt about that. No bladeplay for either of them .
The TENACIOUS has one of the safest liner locks, it engages the blade very good but the closing is not so facile.

Hi Radu,

Thanx for the interest and support.

Our customers tend to prefer lighter and stronger knives. As models develop, we refine the designs ti serve our customers preferences.

We do make a number of models with stainless scales, which provide heft.

We expect you to use the heck out of them.

Noo...heavier is better , silver clip is better ! :p
I like the impression of a heavy duty knife. I am not gonna use or carry the knife too much...it's not designed to be an EDC, it will be only part of my collection - museum exponat -
