I wasn't prepared for the finish, thought it was going to be like the commander I had. This one is stone washed where the powder coating is satin? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Wow. This knife is perfect. Perfect ergonomics. Perfect finish and cut me without feeling it sharp. It's a 2011 version. I'm 2 for 2 on perfect out the box on Emersons. :-)

Sounds like you got a great knife there, any chance you want to share some pictures?

I too have an interest in the CQC-10, really the only Emerson I like; if I finally decide to go for it and buy an Emerson the 10 is definitely at the top of my list.

I just had shoulder surgery this morning or they would already be up. Definitely will try to get some up tomorrow.

Received the knife yesterday amd did have a chance to strip it down last night. Black looking washers, didn't think to scrape one a little last night but it definitely appeared to have bronze antiseize on the washes to blade and in the pivot.

Appears to me as though someone at Emerson is listening very well to us the customer. I am beyond pleased with this knife amd truly feel like I got a deal for what I paid vs the quality and strength this knife has.

Clueless as to what the washers are.

Blade will not center completely unless it is tightened to tight to wave. When the pivot in loosened to that point you can turn it with a fingernail. Not sure why this is but I'm sure it will improve once broken in.

Nylatron is a tradename for a family of nylon plastics, typically filled with molybdenum disulfide lubricant powder. It is used to cast plastic parts for machines, because of its mechanical properties and wear-resistance

I personally don't like the bronze lube they use - I always clean it and use Benchmade's blue lube, which seems to work great with the nylatron washers.

Will remington drilube work good? I use the bronze for EGR tubes on an isx lol.

I just got a CQC 10 on trade (SF, PE model). It's an '10 & I have to say the F&F is excellent, right up there with any other higher-end production folder that I can think of. I had an '10 CQC 7A (SF, CE model) that was excellent, too. As to the CQC 10's ergos, I find it to be excellent. Feels great in the hand (Regular & ice pick grip), nice heft, fairly thick blade, & excellent blade shape.

Wish mine would quit fighting the the M4 Manix over my front pocket! Maybe do some pics of the two together tomorrow :-)

Those are some great pictures, and a lot of them; thanks. Sorry to hear about your shoulder issues, hope you have a fast recovery.

Once again great pictures, I may eventually have to find a local dealer that sells one and go check it out.

Sometimes I carry my Emersons on the inside part of the weak hand pocket to be waved in reverse grip, so I can have room for another knife :p

Emersons are great and ive had around 2 or 3 of them before... but becareful because if it breaks or malfunctions for any reason and u send it to them to get it fixed ive heard of ALOT of story where they blamed the user and would not refurbish it... as opposed to other knife companies like SOG, and BM (ive had exp. with both of these) and they didn't ask any questions.. 3-week turn-around.. and gave my blade a free sharpening aswell..;) just keep it in mind!...

There is a difference with "stories" and reality. I sent a knife in about 2 months ago, it came back with no issues at all. When hearing "tall tales", it's always a good idea to consider the source before passing judgement. If you disassemble a Benchmade your warranty is automatically void, same with Spyderco, same with lots of companies. The way they assemble the knife is the "craftsmanship" as in "This knife is warrantied against any defects in materials and craftsmanship..."Sometimes people do completely stupid things with their tools, and then want it replaced. Gotta draw the line somewhere.
