Ok so I have been going back and forth between a Sheepdog and a CQC 8, but I totally went off base and got a CQC 15 instead! I just got it today and wow am I impressed! I thought my mini commander was comfortable, and it is, but the 15 feels like it was specially molded just for my hand! My only other Emersons besides my recent m-com and the 15 have been and endless barrage of CQC 7's, so I guess I always connected Emersons with squarish, blocky handles. Guess I been short changing myself all this time lol! I think the only thing I would change is I would like a larger opening disc since I wear gloves a lot at work and the smaller disc makes opening more difficult. I was looking at one of the .45 casing discs, they look a little wider than the stock ones I think. Netguy, I know you have one on the way too, I think ur gonna be REALLY happy with it! Having trouble loading pics, but I'll try again tomorrow.

Congratulations on the score man! I will eventually get a 15 also, I got a new Roadhouse today and I am in the same happy place as you are. The CQC8 is also very nice in hand, I like it a lot. I need to go to a local dealer and actuallly handle the knives before I buy them, but Emersons usually have awesome ergos. I made a disc out of a spent 9mm case and it was ok but I need to refine the technique; they're not hard if you have the tools and patience. Anyway, enjoy your 15!

Congrats! Now I'm really excited for mine to get here! I was actually thinking of making my own .45 or .357 disk. I was thinking of putting it on the clip, but the thumbdisk would work, too.

Thx! Yea I came real close to an 8, but for some reason it reminds me of my Contego to the point I felt it would be like having two of the same knife. That being said, I'll probably wind up with one anyway eventually lol!

Also, as far as sharpening the 15 style blade, I know with a traditional tanto, u work on each edge individually, does the same hold true for the 15? I only ask bcuz of the smoother transition between the recurve of the blade to the tanto part. Thx!

I carried a production CQC-15 for a very long time and never leave the house now without my custom 15 in my pocket. Work each edge separately as you would a standard tanto. This keeps the transition between the tanto edge and the belly crisp. Congratulations on your new Emerson

Congrats!!! I look forward to seeing pix, when you can. Use it in good health.
