Yup just got it today at paragon sports in NYC! I know I probablly paid a little much but hell you only live once!!I love my CQC6 grat f'in knife let me tell ya! ok now that i got my braggin rights what is up with the usaual suspects? by the way the blade says besides emerson specwar it has 20/00 I assume thats its birthdate?what is the usual suspects about??

Have you ever seen the Pink Panther movies with Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau? If you have, you will remember that he had a boss who, at the mention of Clouseau's name, would start to physically shake, develop a severe twitch in one eye, start to stutter, and then would usually end up burning himself up while trying to light a cigarette to calm his nerves. I sort of picture the Usual Suspects as experiencing the same condition at the mention or sight of an Emerson, particularly the customs

I have the shake and stutter down pretty well, but am still working on the others, so I am not official yet

The Usual Suspects are the guys who really know it all about Emerson. I thought I knew a lot about the man and his knives until I found this place...now I realize I am a mere tadpole. They have a real REAL passion and ability to find and procure his knives. I have huge amounts of respect for them, and they all treat us young ones with a lot of respect too. Off the top of my head, they seem to be Arkhamdrifter, Tamishigiri, John Hollister, Sniper308, Rosinghal. There are others, I can't remember who else right now. Also, it is not an 'official' association, they are just the ones that seem to have the most knowledge and contribute some of the best stuff to the forum. As opposed to me; I just seem to babble a lot...

BTW, congratulations on your purchase! Is it custom or production? I am presuming it is production since you got it in a store?!

Congratulations on your purchase and Welcome. For the record, the "Usual Suspects" are bound by their love of Emerson knives alone. The term was keyed for the folks that hang out here and talk "Emerson". There's no requirements at all.

The 2000 is the year of manufacture of your CQC6. The line between the zeros is just the bottom leg of the . . . "crosshairs" for lack of a better term.

If you take a picture of your new knife, we'll put it up on the Gallery for all to see.

Thank you for the kind words.

From his description it's a custom. The CQC6 are all customs, there is no production equivalent and "Emerson Specwar Knives" is Ernie's current custom logo.

Take care

John

Congrats !!!
Welcome to the family and a always empty bank account.

Congrats on scoring your first Custom Emerson! I'd suggest keeping a serious stash of money for the next one you might find and decide you want. It seems like once you get your first, the hunt is on for the next! Good Luck!

Hey Edge1- That's great to hear. Did you just walk into Paragon and it was just sitting under the glass?? Wow, what luck (and timing). I used to go there alot and check to see what was new but they always seem to have the same pieces, so I rarely go anymore. I think I'd better start going again.
Take care, Donald.

Thanks again guys!!Nowherefast, yea just walked in and there it was sitting next to a demascus blade with mother of pearl handles CQC6,but that one was a little to much for me!!plus they have the whole production line now also!!but they are full retail!!

Hey Edge1,
You lucky dog. I use to go into Paragon almost every weekend in hopes of finding a custom Emerson being there. They only had fancy custom folders or production knives there so I finally gave up.

Welcome to the club, but I bet this won't be your last Emerson. Is your new 6 beadblasted, single or double bevel edge? Let us know.

Dave,it is a double bevel with satin finsh I love it I know what you mean I used to go to paragon also alot but I just happened to walk in there just to peak the other day and wala there it was pulled out the amex did the signing and it is mine I just dont know how i am going to come up with cash,LOL
well next mission is a CQC8 maybe next year!!

Dave the dreesed up 6 was 4000 bucks AAAHHH
thats alot of money,I saw the same knife at robertsoncustomcutlery.com for 2500!

When you go to gun or knife shows and knowledgable people see a CQC-6 for the first time, it has seemed like a religous experience for some of them! 4K is not justified for the Dress CQC-6 in my book! Congrats on you new knife, carry it and use it!

Well, $400 is a bit too much to pay, then again from what we've seen on here, someone will buy it.

As for the CQC6, it is a fighting folder. That's what it was designed for, that's what to use it as.

Use it, and enjoy it !

If you look that Emerson now charges $3000 for a new full dress CQC6 at a show, then $4000 would seem "right", allowing for the aftermarket lift in pricing.

This makes the "old" Full Dress CQC6 that Les has seem a bargin - an Emerson for less than the new retail!?!?!

Regards,

Ed

$4,000! That's alot of scratch. Being that Paragon is located in NYC & having the reputation that they have, I'm sure that it will eventually sell for $4,000.

Congrats,on your new CQC-6,I checked out the one at RCC and with a tear in my eye pulled
out my faded invoice for my "leftie" Q-6 that i've been waiting for since "97" but for now i'll just keep buying up production models,
Any news on the Nasa and Sark anyone?
