Bought a BK2 I was doing some research on the sheath . Some say the sheath is come with can dull the blade , How can I fix this . Are there better sheaths for this knife

Congrats on the new steel, use it well. It will take it.

The sheath dulling issue is supposed to be resolved with BK2. I have one of the older stamped BK2s and never had any issues that I can recall with sheath dulling. That being said some reported this issue... Some folks just took a hack saw blade and ran that inside the sheath to make a little more room for the edge, others say that through use and drawing the knife it will wear its own path coupled with sharpening and the issue will resolve itself! Also utilizing a "proper" draw to unsheath the knife pulling towards the spine can avoid the issue all together... However, these were all solutions to the old sheath dulling problem... KA-BAR has reported that they reformulated their sheaths to resolve the issue some folks had. This issue has been addressed A LOT lol. Just do a google search or even a bladeforums search about it. My best advice to you? Use it a lot and dont worry about it! :D

the newer sheathes have less glass in them now too stem the dulling issue, never had a problem with mine that I can tell!

You may find that you just want to buy or make your own sheath anyways. If you're like the rest of us, there's a good chance you'll strip it, add custom scales, etc, and then you'll probably need a custom sheath from someone like Al Welke (azwelke), Psyop, Julio (710), Skystorm, BMauser, or Eli (Godspeed) if he's still around. Or you can make your own. It's not terrifically hard to do, really, but it's pretty hard to do well enough that it looks good.

BK22 sheath or Spec-Ops if that style suits you.
or like others have mentioned, a custom kydex or leather.
My factory sheath didn't seem to dull the blade at all. Unless you have a problem or just want a different sheath, just use the factory one.

I just picked up my first Becker, a BK2 also and I make a point to draw it towards the spine just in case. I'll tell ya, I was very impressed when I pulled that little tank out of the box...she's all there, that's for sure. I took it out and couldn't believe how well it chopped, batoned, etc. It's a hell of a knife, the best I've owned to this point anyway and for the price, I'm very pleased!
