Just got my first hinderer...cant get the filler tab out any ideas?

Just unboxed my first hinderer 3.5 spear point. Went to change it to a tip up carry but the filler tab at the bottom of the handle won't come out...any ideas that won't risk damaging the knife? Already tried grabbing it with duct tape...
