Just got my first Spyderco Endura 4

I tell any friends looking to buy just one folding knife (imagine that!) To get an endura. For the money I think it's an awesome value!
I have a black Endura 4 combo edge sabre grind of coarse... Pairs nicely with my r6 for camping and big chores. And can stand on its own for a day hike.
I also have a Blue full flat grind, that I maintain on a sharp maker, it's a razor!
I use it almost exclusively in the kitchen, and at the grill, or for finer household cutting .
The steel liners, the weight the edge even fit and finish ROCK on the Endura!
I became a fan of this style spyderco in about 1993 - 94. A high school buddy showed me his big brothers spyderco that he carried on duty with the Nevada Highway Patrol, I hadn't never seen anything like it and buying bucks at the box store went out the window :-P (I still love Bucks!) So I really freaking like Enduras! MmKIMG_20131110_201538.jpg

Welcome to the forum, and Congrats on the good choice!

I have only recently picked up an Endura, and I'd say, it's a great all around general use (EDU = Every Day Use) kind of design (material, fit & finish, price, steel, ergonomics, etc.).

Got an Endura blue handled in VG10 and liked it so much I now have a ZDP-189 Endura also! And an Emerson wave model!

Gotta love the Endura. Started with a wave, got a Pac Salt (c'mon, its an endura!), and now have a delica on the way. FFG endura next.

The Endura is a very under rated 3.75 inch blade, for the cost you can't beat it ! I have a few : 2 VG-10 blades with stainless steel handles (combo and plain edged), Endura 4 plain edge with white handle, a ZDP blade FRN handle, Emerson waved, toxic green black blade, a Krein regrind, old school combo edged Endura clip-It with FRN handle and a factory blemish combo edged beater with black blade. Great lock up and also hold an amazingly sharp edge.

Like a lot of people on here, I have a lot of knives to choose from. But my Super Blue Endura always seems to end up in my pocket.

Love the Endura. Saber ground ZDP189, G-10, Super Blue, FFG ZDP189. I usually work them into the rotation on a regular basis. Just enough blade. Disappears in the pocket. Love the ergos on the handle. It really is a great knife. Never have had any problems with ZDP chipping out but I always wait too long to sharpen.

Endura4 FFG was my first Spyderco too. It's an excellent knife and a great introduction to the brand.

I've had my endura 4 for a few years now. I've been trying to get a newer higher end knife lately...

My problem is the Endura is so damn comfortable I can't find any knife that looks appealing to me! The Endura really is an incredible knife.

I don't think you can go wrong with an Endura. I've had my waved version for a while and love it. I also have a Pac Salt which is really an H1 endura with a slightly different blade shape. Both are amazing.

I just picked up a FFG Delica last night and I can't stop handling it. Can't believe I haven't bought one until now. Next is a FFG endura.

Great knives!

I think once you have an Endura, a Delica and a Stretch won't be far behind :p

All those Japanese-made FRN lockbacks (Endura, Delica, Stretch, Dragonfly, Ladybug) are great knives. The Delica is still my favorite of that lot. I really like the Caly3 CF as well and, one of these days, need to pick up a Caly3.5. It is a slippery slope... ;)
