Just got my first Spyderco! What next?

Gayle Bradley. Love that knife.

...depends on what you want to do with it. Sage2 is great carry...office...or Caly3 or Chaparral. Stretch for great slicer...carry or kitchen...get the ZDP-189 blade-steel. Techno if want short heavy-duty. Gayle Bradley for rougher work; perhaps in the woods. Military for general carry (4" blade). TUFF for VERY heavy-duty work.
There are so many...and so little money to buy them with..

Just got my first Spyderco (Paramilitary 2) what Spyderco should I get next? I like the looks of the delica...

What's next? Skip a few steps and just go ahead and sign your paychecks over to Sal when it comes today...

In reality I say dragonfly, you have a big knife, now you need a little [big] knife, either G10/VG-10 or my personal favorite, FRN/ZDP-189. If your against that small of knives check out a Caly, the 3.5 and 3 are the current ones, production options for both are G10/VG-10 or CF/ZDP-189 but there's also super blue LE's out and other versions of the Caly too, also since im mentionin the Caly the UK Pen Knive (UKPK for short) is the Caly 3's handle design but a slip joint. Very ergonomic.

Again on the subject of the Caly, the 3.5 packs over a half inch more blade into the same closed package as the Delica (3.5" vs. 2.88" blades) and being back locks are very thin (I believe .3xx" for both Caly's IIRC). If your thinking of a back lock model I highly suggest a Caly (nothing wrong with a Delica, but if you can afford it everything about the Caly is better, be it G10 version or the upgraded CF w/ ZDP blade steel).

I also bought the PM2 as my first Spyderco then I later bought the Delica 4. I wasn't impressed at all and ended up giving it to my brother for Christmas last year. Don't get me wrong it's still a nice little knife but compared to the PM2 it just feels cheap and unrefined. Not nearly as smooth opening/closing, handle material is cheap feeling, I hate the lock back lock style I learned and even the Spydie Hole itself feels way better on the PM2. Just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt. :)

Get a Swick3 while it's still available. The original Swick's sold out very quickly and are very much in demand with collectors.

Of the knives I own... Native 5, Sage 1, any knife in H1 steel. You could also grab a Superleaf before they become too hard to find.

The ones I want... Gayle Bradley, Military, Techno, Sage Titanium, Chaparral

I own two Paramilitary 2's. I bought the normal S30V with black scales, and the S35VN version with earth brown scales. I switched the blades so the S35VN has the black scales, and that is my go-to EDC. S35VN is great stuff, which is why I recommend the Native 5 first.

you just got your spyderco pm2 and you're looking for another new knife already? must be nice to have money to burn.
i would enjoy your pm2 for a while and get it dirty before thinking about buying another knife.

So many to choose from. The Delica will be smaller if you want to go that route. Good options My favorites are the paramilitary, military, Domino, Sage 2 and the Endura/Delicas (waved versions are fun).

 Almost word for word what I was going to say.

I say get all of them :p, or as many as you like.

I like the military, manix 2 and manix 2 xl, endura 4. Right now considering superleaf and tuff. For me I got my spydercos to try different steels as it seems they are most affordable and have the biggest variety.

The PM is on the upper end of Spydie's. If that is the kind of construction quality you are looking for, you may not be satisfied with the Delica. But personally I like the Delica. You might think about where you are going with your choices. The Delica is a good EDC blade and one that I choose to carry sometimes. For me, my carry knife does not have to be top of the line because I'm looking for functionality.

I bought military first and after i bought a Paramilitary and i love both of them very much but my real favorite is the Paramilitary.

You did good getting the Para2, but there's no going down, you did it the wrong way. You're supposed to get the Delica, then the Endura, then the Native, then the Manix, then the Para2. :)
