I love going to pawn shops and lately I've been on a lucky streak and finding some good stuff. Last night I decided to go to one because they were having a Black Friday sale, and they had a Buck 116 which I kinda had my eye on but was a tad too much, but with the sale would be a steal.
I get there and the lady tells me the 116 had just sold a few minutes ago, dang! But I look over and see this little beauty. And I manage to pick it up for only $32Cad.
The reason I think it got looked over is that it was so filthy it no longer fully opened under spring tension. But at least the past owner obviously used the heck out of it, which actually makes me happy in a way.
The inside wasn't looking so hot either.
Amazing what a little soap and water can do.
All back together and oiled up. It now opens fully again under spring tension like it's supposed to.
I feel like you can always tell the quality of something by how easy it is to take apart and put back together, and this knife clicked back together like a fine swiss watch.
Later I sharpened it with my lansky, and I was surprised how nicely it sharpened. Because it's S30V I was expecting a difficult time being my first time sharpening this metal.
