What a great knife. I ordered it off an intenet store so I had never seen it except in a picture. The handle is quite large (a good thing) but very thin. It is made of FRN and the texture is quite non-slip. This is my second Spyderco. I also have an Endura. This blade is a nice conventional looking drop point (very functional). I have heard that this knife has been discontinued. I hope Spyderco uses the handle design again in the future. It is one of the few designs that incorporates a large guard to keeep the index finger from touching the blade. I do not collect knives. This one goes to work with me tomorrow.

The Goddard lightweight is a worker. One of my favorite FRN handled knives. It is a real shame that sales warrant discontinuation.

I have had My Goddard Lightweight for several years now. I carry it everyday clipped to the front pocket of my uniform pants. It has served me well. Several regulars in this forum will know how I feel about them. I bought a couple more when I heard about them being discontinued. The one I carry nowhas been a good soldier. I even had to get it repaired when I broke the clip when we were making entry during a drug raid..Great knife too bad it will no longer be made .

Seems like this may need a triple check. Last I read, it was decided that the LW was to remain in production. Even after it was suggested by Spyderco that it may be discontinued...

I finally have one also. I had been waiting on a plain edge, and got it. It's such a good knife. Maybe it won't be chopped from the line-up.
