Ok so after scouring the internet for a review of the Blackfoot I was disappointed to not find any basic user info. So here is my limited input about the Blackfoot by Lone Wolf Knives.
I purchased this knife at a local gun shop, after I went in to look for a Benchmade that might replace my stolen mini AFCK as an EDC. I was hoping to check out the griptilian or mini Dejavoo(a bit expensive for me)just to see how they felt in the hand. The Griptilian has a nice lock good steel in the blade (154cm I think, same as my old mini AFCK),the Dejavoo a bit nicer better steel S30V G-10 handles, and a titanium liner lock(although weak from what I read here). The Shop being a Benchmade Dealer had neither of those two popular knives.
So as I was browsing the others I came across a small looking black folder made by Lone Wolf. I asked the person at the counter what kind of steel was used in the knife, he opened up the glass case and gave the knife a "once over" and said he was not sure but he would check the packaging. Knowing that most reputable manufacturers readily place the blade material somewhere on the blade I asked to look at the knife myself. After handing me the knife I was first struck by the texture of the G-10 scales, next I was shocked to see that the marking on the back of the blade stated CPM S30V, I immediatley began to think that this was a well made knife that would be well out of my price range of around 70 US but when I looked at the price tag hanging off the handle it read just 78.00 even. I felt excited, the blade is 3 inches long coated with TiNi and great feeling G-10 scales. A solid liner lock makes a "pop" when it engages. I bought it on the spot as it was the last one in stock .
After getting home I went over the fit and finish of the knife( I probably should have done this before purchase but CPM S30V for under 100 ?) the blade is centered nicely the edge is razor sharp, even flat grinds and the liner lock engages beautifully. There is 0 blade play and the pocket clip holds the knife nice and deep in the pocket (reversible tip down only), the thumb studs could be a bit bigger but with the blade riding on Phosphor bronze bushings it still opens smoooooth(a drop of militec may make it too smooth) and the jimping on the back of the blade is placed in the right location and is functional. This knife feels great in the hand, it is a little thicker than my old mini but the G-10 is huge improvement over the smooth g-10 of my old mini. Blade shape is really nice, enough belly for slicing but not so much to make it awkward for opening packages or using the pointy tip. To top it all off its made right here in the USA ! This is one tough little knife, and it is a great EDC(been Edc in my pocket for a week now), if you havent checked out this knife yet I would highly recommend that you do. This is a high quality knife with a hard working blade at a super price.
