Just got my new knives from knife works in the mail!!! these knives are awesome! I'm going out this Sunday to test these bad boys in the woods. I can't wait! Anybody have any experience with the 4CP? I'm just curious how these guys hold up to "in the field" use; batoning, fire starting, etc. Thanks for any input.

Congrats.

Just got my 6 today as well. Have had a 4 for a little while now.

Both the 6 and the 4 are quite adept at batoning. Though it will be a bit easier with the 6 given the longer blade. Enjoy.

I believe Cricketdave has a 6CP. I had a question about batoning with a clip point as well, but he said it was no issue with the 6.

The 4CP seems like it would be excellent at getting a fire going. The CP would be great with a ferro or misch rod. My 4 plain edge is not my top choice to baton with. I would rather have the 6, or if I decide to take the extra weight along, the Junglas. It excels at chopping and batoning.:D

thanks for the input! I have experience batoning with a 4, just not with the clip point. The 6 will definitely be much appreciated when it comes to processing wood. I just don't know if the clip point will have too much bite to it. I dont think it will for what I am going to use it for. All in all, I love them both!
