My new Spyderco Titanium Salsa just arrived in the mail and already I am in love. Its titanium handle is the perfect shape for my hand and with the thumbstud the knife feels like it is glued to your hand. The short blade with the upward curve is perfect for utility work and the lock is very simple yet feels very secure. I must say that least for right now I am very happy with this knife. I do have a question for anyone who knows about Salsas. My blade has a 037 imprinted on the side of it. Is this the production number, or just a part of all the titanium knives? If anyone knows please fill me in.

Sounds like it was a collectors club knife, I have two and neither has a number on the blade.

It is a collector's number. Collector Club #'s go from 001-200.

Typically, the first 1000 production pieces are engraved.

I have not seen a production Salsa with a number on it. Might of been pre-production? or like Dave said a collectors club peice. Did you buy it new or second hand? and yes they do fit the hand very nice and fill the grip.

I bought the knife from a company called Sawyer's Cutlery on E-bay. Is there any positives or negatives to it being a collector's club knife?

Glad to hear you like the knife, it is a handy little tool. Don't let that little number on the blade keep you from using it!
