WOW, its a very nice knife. I also have a normal seal pup and this one seems alot more use friendly with the saw back and better grip. The sheath is one of the best new features, the black coating seems worthless becuase the old silver powder coat was indestructible ( at least i couldnt phase it).

Anyone have tested the old powder coat to the TiTan?

Had mine for about two months now. A great knife as you already know. I have used mine (which BTW is tiger striped) to chop vines and stuff in the yard and has not phased the tiger striping at all.). Should hold up pretty well. But, being realistic, depending on how you use it, the coating will eventually scratch and such. But it gives the knife a "used" look. And isn't that what we buy these toys for. To USE?

You guys are so mean!!!!! You HAVE to post pictures!!!!! Especially that tigerstriped one, that thing has to be awesome!!! :)

The powder coat really couldnt scratch at all, i think this one will but its fairly tough.

Nice to see another Subaru person here. :D

I have the Seal Pup Elite and it's a great knife. I picked up the Nylon sheath for the regular Seal Pup and while it's a tight fit (the "point" on the spine is a little higher it seems), i like it better than the kydex sheath that comes with the knife.

I, too purchased the nylon sheath for my Elite. Much nicer to use than the kydex. And quieter as well. And with the miriad of attachment points, can be carried in and on just about anything or anywhere. I use the little pocket to carry a Flash II instead of a sharpening stone. For field sharpening, I carry a little Smith's pocket sharpener. The Flash II fits the little pocket just perfect. For me, an ideal combination.

I just got my SEAL PUP ELITE the other day and although I don’t mind the kydex sheath cause it is probably better for different circumstances like around water cause it holds the knife better and is more water proof/drainable. I still want to purchase the nylon one because it is easier to attach and more silent and easier when removing the knife.

Is there a nylon sheet being made for the elite or is the old one the only one available?

Also rather then getting it shipped over form the states (a latter option) is there any place in Australia where I can purchase one, dose anyone know of a SOG dealers or stores? I know my local disposal stores don’t stock them.

Cheers.

Totally awesome piece of kit. Just got the black coated versionwith groove sheath. As ex-military I have to say that this is the best knife I have used. Well SOG! Wish i could post a pic of my new baby!

Hi Fellas,
This is my first post, and I wanted to say hey before asking a question.

Last year I bought the SOG Sealpup elite with the Ti finish. I've been using it around the yard and for camping as well. My question is how does the knive and the Ti finish hold up to salt water and sand?

I think that's what the knive was designed for ,but I've been chicken to take it out on my boat and beach my boat and camp on the beach with it and really put it through it's paces. I'll also go swimming and clamming with it. Will the finnish stand up to the harsh saltwater enviorment????

thanks in advance

maybe I should have started a seperate thread for this???
