Hi You might remember my post regarding stripping the screw on my sebe a couple of weeks ago. Well I sent in my knife, and also had the polished hollow grind done. Today I opened up the ups box, and to my amazement It was a brand new sebe, or so I thought. The blade looks new, and has the polished bevel and stonewashed flats. the handles look brand new as well. They even replaced the lanyard. I had to look it over for a while to discern it from a new one. One question I have is what does the number on the inside of the handle mean? Mine read's B 97
is that the year it was made? if so is this model more valuable than the new sebes? Was this made before they switched over to the machined knives? Sorry for the barrage of questions, but one must ask in order to learn. Is this an ATS-34 or BG-42 blade?

The mark inside the scale is a batch number from when they machined it out of Ti stock. If you have a new profile Sebenza and not a classic it is most likely BG-42.
