Yep, just got my Vic Soldier from Felinevet. Its a '98. This is my first alox SAK, and let me tell you, this thing is Impressive!! Super solid, nice meaty tools, and real tough. Fast easy service, great to do business with, great deal, and helps out a good cause :D
I cant stop smiling over how awesome this knife is! I'm gonna go cut stuff now!

congrats, mine is in the mail, along with 4 other random saks from ebay 8) Hope it is as good as everyone says...

Best production knife for the price. Used mine today to put up a tool holder in the garage, makes marking/starting centered holes super easy. I've been trying to wear mine out for six years on stuff around the house. It still looks almost new. Enjoy 'em.

You just can't beat a Soldier - tough as nails, easy to tote, don't freak people out when you use a "Boyscout" looking knife in public. As with any SAK, you've got a terrific warranty backing you up in case you somehow break it (don't see that happening, but stuff does happen sometimes). I've carried a Soldier for years dating back to high school summer jobs working on a tractor all day to working on helicopters in the military for several years. I've never been disappointed with the performance of a SAK Soldier. Enjoy your knife!

Chuck289: Best part of it is, that you don't get as much awful scratchmarks unlike those found on red plastic. Figured how you're going to have it carried? In a pouch or rattling about with the loose change in your pockets? Congrats! And welcome to the club.

I ordered a leather belt pouch, it should be here soon.

The SAK Soldier is one of the best knives of all time! I EDC mine a lot. All the tools are great on this puppy.

just got mine. really a nice pocketable EDC. I forsee carrying this alot when i want a more toned down carry setup (normal edc calypso jr + leatherman s2)

the soldier IS a great knife. the wenger standard issue is almost the same knife, and just as good.

i have been EDC'ing a soldier, but recently find my new Vic climber getting stuffed in my pocket more.

the only down fall of the vic soldier and wenger SI... is that there is NO scissors, which is why i have been EDC'ing the climber.

still an excellent knife with great tools and phenom strength. it will always be one of my favs.

i got 3 now: '05 Vic soldier, '06 Vic soldier and a '77 Wenger SI (this is from my birth year :) )

agreed. scissors would make it excellent. Large blade + combo tool + scissors in a 2 layer alox...

Scratchmarks on a knife!? Seriously, though, I'll give up my scratched up plastic-handled SAK (with the oh-so-handy tweezers, corkscrew with little add-on screwdriver, and bonus pen blade that you won't find on any alox-handled model) when they pry my cold dead fingers from around it!!!! :)

What you need to do is team up a soldier in the pocket with a classic on the keyring. After doing this for years now, I've come to think of it as the best combo out there.

Think of it as a soldier with a support unit!:D

I've had mine for a couple of months now, and I agree it's quite the knife:) Interesting statement from me, considering I have 100 folders, give or take...:) I carry mine loose along with a smaller SAK (Recruit, I think), which is in a small slipcase I made. I was actually pretty surprised at how heavy and well made it was for it's size. It's my first Alox one...may have to start adding other Alox ones to my collection:D

I love the Soldier also. I have a Red Alox model called the Pioneer in the mail from Feline Vet!

Soldiers are the best.

Out shooting pigeons yesterday morning with two friends.... got about 40 birds, all big fat ones.

Only had the Soldier with me.... it was fantastic, I used it to cut the breasts off all the birds and it did not need sharpening afterwards. It took us a long time, but we went home with bagfuls of pigeon meat for the freezer, looking forward to pigeon pie.

I have just ordered another two Soldiers from Felinevet for my two buddies.

Neither of them had a knife with them - can you believe it ?
