My Ti just came in and it beats my wave in almost every way. The combination #1 and #2 phillips works fine. The knife is huge! I think I like the wave scissors better but that is a minor gripe. The nylon sheath is great and has 2 small elastic pockets on the outside. I truly cannot think of anything that could be done better. This is the ultimate multi-tool.

Thanks for your small review. Any chance on some pics? I know what the Charge looks like of course, but I only see the same press pics over and over again. I'd be happy to post them for you if you got no web space. Enjoy your Charge! :)

wave scissors vs charge scissors

Thanks for the review. I was leaning toward the Xti and it looks like thats what I'll go with. I will keep my Micra for scissor duty.

Thanks for the pics danbomb. I definately going to get me a Charge, but the scissors seem much smaller than on the Wave. Leatherman claims the scissors are strong enough to cut a seat belt... Well, I hope I never have to find out if that's true. Besides I think I'd use the serrated blade to cut something like that.

Do the handles have side to side play when closed? The Original Waves were bad for this and I wonder if they corrected it on the new models.

My charge has a tiny bit of play when closed. My wave is real sloppy when closed after 4 years of heavy use.

hi,

-Do the pliers lock?
-and how do the screwdriver bits fit in the tools adapter?(nice and tight?)
- do the attachable lanyard and belt clip work well?
P.S.--> look at www.leatherman.com -> products-> charge TI(there is a link to a "charge site")

greetings,

mike

The pliers do not "lock" but they do stay in place like the other leatherman tools.
The bits are tight in the adapter.
The belt clip and lanyard work fine.

-are alle the tools easy accesable?
-is it a very bulky tool(like the gerber 800 legend or supertool)?
-how is the knife action?

can you post some extra pics?(it is always cool to see real life pics)

ciao,

michael

all tools are easy to get to- no clumping
it is a little thicker than the wave
I am not sure what you mean by knife action
I will try to do more pics today

by knife action i'm thinking about the smooth opening, the sharpness, the alignment of the cuting edge with the toolhandle(so you can cut stuff with the tool on its widest side).

perhaps a strange explanation but i hope it is understandable.
