Well, I'll apologize right off for the lack of pix but I don't have a digital camera.
Since I wasn't able to go, I sent my Arrow Fighter to Eric Isaacson to take to the Blade Show, and he dropped it off with Kenny Rowe for me. It's been a long few weeks of pining and day dreaming, but a package came a few days back, and I finally got to be reunited with my other soulmate, as well as see some first class leatherwork.
I now understand what you guys have been talking about. You must forgive me, but in past times when reading complaints about this or that sheath I kinda' was thinking, "It's two slabs of some material fastened together, what exactly are you expecting it to be?" Well, I'll now butter up those never-posted words and choke them down, because good grief these things are nice!!
One is just a basic pouch sheath in a natural oil finish, the other is a tri-position in black with vertical and horizontal carry modes, as well as a detachable D-ring belt frog. They are both extremely snug, but fitted so well that there isn't going to be any significant wear or deformation from repeated draws/insertions.
Why, you may ask, am I posting this when I don't have any pictures to share? Well, there are two reasons: first and foremost, I think they're really really cool, but my significant other--while happy that I'm happy--is getting tired of hearing about 'em. Secondly, to anyone out there who's yet to take the plunge into custom (i.e. done right) sheaths from any of the many fine workers of leather and cordura and kydex that are often talked about on this forum, you must believe it's not just hype. I have the distinct impression that these things will last forever--and continue to look good doing it.
My only problem now is deciding which sheath the knife will ride in the next time I take it somewhere. It's all Kenny's fault--he convinced me I needed two...
