Well - I have given up on my hopes for another skinny ASH, and a Tank Buster .22 (I ALWAYS MISS THESE ON THE X), however, I did get an original TG in the mail today via forum purchase. Something about it is mesmerizing and the feel in hand is like nothing else I have.

It has magnum smooth black micarta, and the combo of the magum and the smooth make the grip feel a lot slimmer that other magnums, and it also looks like there is less material between the flat of the slab and the actual swells.

It is a well loved stripper/user and I almost like it better that way, although I have never seen or held an unused version. Something about the patina and nice wide shiny convex grind give it so much character. It feels like an old baseball mitt from high school I have not put on in years and when you do, it just feels so cool and friendly like a long lost podnuh' you see somewhere random and pass some time together.

Sounds cheesy, maybe, although there is something extra special about this one for me. Have not been this happy about a blade off the exchange in a long time. This may be my new favorite Busse.

Very happy dude here!

Cam...I totally in tune with what you're describing...

feel the same way about my TG! and you're correct about the grip feel being just a bit more "dialed in"

Really? All that and no pics?!?!?

this'll have to hold you over till Cam posts some up:

Cam, Congratulations! It IS a good feeling when a new knife looks and feels just right. I hope you enjoy it for a long time.

Yup the original definitely has a soul to it. I can't seem to love the LB version. Especially with some nice black canvas.

Congrats! Receiving a new blade is far better than receiving herpes! Enjoy it in good health!

When it comes to INFI I have found I prefer a knife with a couple of miles on it. With the new ones all shiny and such, I hate putting that mark on it. One that comes broke in just craves being used.
