I just got the iron gym extreme (Actually the p90x, which is the exact same thing under a different brand) the other day at a garage sale for two bucks! Watch out Nick Wheeler! I'll be dead lifting semis soon too!

Here's a picture of the device. I was surprised that it didn't rip the moldings off of my doors. Has anyone else tried this thing before?

:D I'm pretty pumped!

Nope, never heard of it, but that doesn't mean much. Looks like some sort of kinky sex stirrup seat kind of thing. What / who did you say you're pumping?

I'm not going to do another pull up, sit up, push up or run in my life. If you got a gun and are planning on chasing me better just go ahead and start firing cause I ain't running. I was a serious athlete most of my life and worked out in some form or fashion almost every day of my life for 27+ years. I'm going to let myself get fat and see if I'm happier, I won't be as tired or sore that way either :p

I need to get in better shape for swimming (Summer swimming starts in a few weeks) and then to be a Marine once I get through high school and college.

And you guys are dirty! Especially Phil! :barf:

Then swim... what the hell does a pull up have to do with swimming? go climb ropes.... better overall exercise than pull ups and more applicable to military stuff.

Have you gotten a lobotomy yet? Get your lobotomy, drop your IQ about 40 points, hit yourself in the genitals repeatedly, eat sand then have someone (preferrably a sailor) to kick you in the tail every couple of days. You'll almost be a Marine then :p

pull ups = arm and back strength = more swimming strength

I'm a really skinny kind of guy. 6' tall, 150 pounds... I need any help with muscle I can get!

I don't have anywhere to climb rope! I agree it would be great to be able to, but I don't have anything to tie it to high enough (short of cottonwood trees that would be 30 ft in the air)

If any of you bastids says I should hold the rope just because I'm tall...

I'll laugh, pop a top and point you to the nearest tree.

:D

Wow Mike,

That's great! It sounds like you're quite the planner. Good for you. And you're selling all that cool wood on the For Sale forum too. You are obviously a go getter. The marines will be lucky to have you! What year are you in in high school? My daughter is a sophomore. I'm a high school applied arts teacher. Good luck with all your endeavors. That pull up device was a real good deal for a couple of bucks! GO FOR IT!!!

All the best, Phil

I'm just a freshman this year, but hopefully will graduate as a junior (a year early)

Dang Mike I am gonna send my boys to hang out with you! They are only 6 and 7 but meeting someone at an age that is considered "cool" that has his sh!t together like you would do nothing but help. Be expecting house guests for the summer. He he he:D:D Keep on keeping on. I hope you accomplish all you set out to do and more brutha.

Phil,
I am shocked that you would suggest that device is some sort of sex toy to a high school freshman.
Come on ,Buddy, we all know that he won't even be thinking about such things until he is in college,;), and if he goes into the Marines, well, that will delay his development a few more years.:D

Mike, Just kidding. I think it is great that you have a plan.

Be careful about hanging rope around these guys... one of them will start swinging at it with a large knife.

Yeah, I had one. It's crap. It'll do a thing or two, but If you really want to build muscle, then just lift weights. Look at bodybuilding.com whether you want to be a body builder or not, thats the place to go.
