First impression is "wow they made this in china", the fit and finish is really good the rivets are completely flush with the handle scales which is something I've had problems with in knives from china. The handle is nice and comfortable and gives a good degree of control, the blade is nice and thick but the deep hollow grind should make it a really good slicer. The leather sheath appears to be really well made and gives a nice tight fit if its snapped in you are not gonna loose your knife. I havent got to cut anything but a hamburger I split with someone but I'll use it in the kitchen for a few days to see how the edge holds up. So far so good.........

It slices, it dices, and yes it does it well. I was cutting up some chicken and potatoes for dinner last night and was useing this little knife and it really works well. So far I havent sharpened it because it still has a nice edge to it and I'm not good at sharpening. I like this little knife and I'm gonna buy one to use as a general camp utility knife. DaveH if your reading this I'm gonna ship it out to you on friday.

Thanks for the review! I can't wait to see how this knife holds up over time. Mine has held up fine but I would be biased :)

Knife received.

My initial impression is "Not bad at all." more later.

Just General Info.
I passed a Lile #7 around at a BAKCA meeting. Many of the guys at BAKCA are purest and generally cringe at the word “China”. Not one negative response. In fact the Pres. of BAKCA ask me for one.
(“Randy if you are out there it would be great to get your opinion.”)

I ask many of them to estimate the retail price. You wouldn’t believe some of the numbers that I got. None came in under $50.00

I have had one of these little guys on my hip for about two months now. I use it all of the time for general purpose. (I am tough on a knife) It’s not as pretty as it was but it still has a good edge. It’s a keeper. I can’t wait for the rest of the “Lile” and “BOSS” line to come out.
Great Job Mike! :)

Thanks for the kind words guys. When I found this company and saw the quality they were able to produce, I knew it was time to jump on board and be the first to create bussiness based on custom collaborations out of China. They now have my motto in their factory and I am trying to get a picture of it. Words that probably never transalted well into Chinese!

"Do It, Do It Right, Do It Right, NOW!"

Enjoy and stay tuned, more BOSS and LILE stuff being made for debut at the Shot Show but I hope to have plenty before Christmas.

The knife has been sent on.

It's pretty decent knife for the price point (around $25 right?). It reminds of the Anza series of knives that are made from carbon steel files.

This knife has a much thinner taper and is a better slicer than Anza knives. IME, Anza knives have to be beveled behind the edge to get good slicing.

The appearance of the knife is decent though the handle and the blade did not seem fully polished out. (Like on a Marbles, Buck, etc.) But then I wouldn't expect to be, for the price, and this shouldn't be taken as a negative.

I think Mike will do OK with these knives if he can market them to the proper people. I've always thought Anza knives should be more popular than they are. Though Anza knives are somewhat more expensive.

Thanks,

The knife arrived here today. I have examined it closely and so far think that it is quite a value for the going price.

Will get some photos tomorrow and post more in-depth. It will be sent to the next person on the list tomorrow or monday.

I sent the knife off to the next person on the list Friday.

For its price, it should definately fill the need for somebody needing a nice hunting knife with a surprisingly good quality leather sheath for a really low price.

There were a couple of minor issues with overall fit and finish. The handle rivets edges were flush with the handle, but the heads felt a bit rounded and raised. The handle was smooth to touch, but visually looked unfinished, like another couple of minutes of sanding it would have looked much nicer. Just really minor things that did nothing to take away from its comfort or usefulness.

The grinds are actually very well done. For a knife of this price and materials you might expect uneven grinds and a dull blade...these were very close to even, and the edge was quite sharp.

I didnt do any kind of heavy cutting tests since the knife is juysta pass around for examination and does not belong to me...but if edge holding ends up being good, then the knife will be a real bargain.

If the other models coming out are in the same "quality for price" class as this, and they are marketed well then I can see them easily having a big impact on the market and showing that China is perfectly able to turn out nice knives if they try.
