Well to get my story out there first off I am life long hunter. I subcribe to Field&Steam and ready it cover to cover every month. Well this months gear corner was on smaller fream folders. The Benchmade was the winner by a landslide, so I really have caught the blade bug lately and decided to look for one. Found one for half price bought it right there and got it in the mail today. So for I have not put it down. What a cool little blade really. I plan on carrying it everyday. Whats the forums take on this little devil. Can't wait to read the results.

It's a really nice knife, particularly as an introduction to higher end folders. Very well built, fun to use, and quite tough. If you get the addiction you can move up to different materials and designs, and if you don't you've got a better folder than 90% of the general populace and it didn't break the bank.

Welcome to the forums, PS! I don't have a knife like yours but I do have a different Benchmade with the same lock... ain't that Axis-lock a hoot? :D

It's a great knife! Anything Benchmade is guaranteed to be quality. You will never hear anyone talk bad about this knife. It's a gateway knife that has started many knife collections and hurt many peoples wallets. Prepare for the addiction.

Time to add some color to this thread. It's a great little knife in all its varieties.

You picked a good one for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if the Mini Grip is Benchmade's best seller. I have a 556 and for a user knife, I like it better than any other lockblade knife I own. The Axis Lock on my Mini Grip is smoother than my other Axis Lock knives too. I got mine right around the time that Benchmade was switching from 440C to 154CM on the Mini Grips.

Great knife, no doubt about it.

Check out the BM 550 if you like the thumb hole.

Also, Spyderco makes a Manix2, with a caged ball bearing lock simular to BM. I love my Manix2 and BM550, so I'd get both.

I had a mini grip and loved it. Unfortunately I forgot I had it on me one day. Got confiscated. Now there is a security guard with a nice mini grip.

You bought a high quality, very affordable knife. Congrats and enjoy.

I have the 556 and 555HG. Love them both. Great size, they feel solidly constructed and are a lot of fun to use.
