I know that many of you know about these already, but repeat material is the hallmark of any enthusiast forum.

This is a ridiculous deal. The knives are a little rough on the fit/finish, but they come very sharp, have a damascus/vg10 sandwich construction, nice handle material, and a nice drawer rack. On a whole they will definitely hold me over till I decide to spring for a much nicer set of kitchen knives.

The edge profiles are a little wavy in places, but I think I can fix that through strategic sharpening. The damascus is a little uneven side to side, but that's really not surprising given the price point. The handles are comfortably sized both in length and diameter. They appear to be a black-stained resin impregnated wood. There are no sharp edges anywhere but the cutting edge; the spines are nicely rounded so I have no fear for my fingers. All of the knives are comfortably balanced except for the Utility knife. It has the same handle as the Santoku and the Chef knife, but much less blade, giving it a handle heavy feel.

Overall, I'm really pleased with the purchase. They look nice, they feel nice, they work well, and they have a decent steel. This set is a lot of bang for the buck.
