Got home yesterday and there was a box in the porch.

The ZT 300 is really nice, fit and finish are very good. The 3D machined G10 slab and Titanium slab is VERY nice and feels great in the hand. This knife is a beefy framelock however there is still a liner in the opposing G10 slab!!! Solid design.

Pics to come!

Way to go. You have good taste. Another "on my list" knives.

At 9.5 inches I imagine that it is a hand-filler. How about a picture of it in your hand for scale please.

Green or brown?

Best,

Yeah i second that good taste motion. I never thought id see a kershaw with a ti fram lock. much less with a strider design.

I didn't think any were at the dealers yet? Some are shipping now?

I saw the 300 at Blade and liked it a lot! I normally find folders with >4" blades to be too big for my preferences, but this one felt great.

there's the kershaw leek in ZDP as well. and the Galyeans. and the RJ Martin collaboration. this is a year for Kershaw!!!

How well does the assisted opening work.I have really been thinking about getting one of those. Also, does it have a lock to keep the blade from deploying by accident?

Bob,

Been a week without pics. A whole week. Quite a while. You worked me up into a frenzy with your post about your new ZT300 and I've had the fidgets for seven days. Look... I think I understand, you hawked the camera to cover your cc payment. A man should have priorities. I won't bug you anymore.

Best,

oregon:grumpy:

Never mind Bob. Save your camera batteries.

Visited Kershaw in Tualatin today (busy place). Handled the ZT0300: Huge handle, dwarfs the blade and extraordinarily heavy. I have machetes that don't weigh that much.

The speed-safe is violent and hardcore. It locks open with the force and sound of an AK-47. The thwack open shakes your entire arm. Very, very impressive CNC texturing/working of the Titanium (frame lock side) and the G10 slab side. The texturing is the same on both sides so it looks so much more symetrical than the SMG.

Don't know if I could get used to the blade finish. It didn't feel like sandpaper like I expected. The zebra strip is not something I am used to.

I don't know how they managed to make it so heavy. Perhaps there is depleted uranium used in its construction. Would make a terrific bludgeon for tent pegs and reluctant pack mules.

Do I want one? Yes, of course.:) Will I get one? Maybe, after the numbered series winds down and the dust settles.

No Ti ZDP Leek available for my hot little hands and no word on its ETA.:grumpy:

Should have picked up two more of their cool $30, 18 position, knife bags as mine are full already.

Best,

oregon

Took some pics, I agree I kind of waited a while but I got the other (tan) one in the mail.

Very nice knife, I agree with Oregon, this thing has heft to it but it's build like a tank.

I got a ZT301 last week from TAD and this is one heavy duty knife! Yes, it is very heavy weight wise; I believe that this is mainly due to the large, wide S30V blade. The SpeedSafe on this knife is not nearly as quick as the smaller Kershaw knives, due to the large mass of the blade. Combining the spring assist with a little wrist flick, however, and the blade snaps out with authority.
Though rather expensive, you get a lot of knife for the money, and it is worth it. Premium blade steel, Hinderer Stop, sculpted integral lock titanium and G10 w/ liner, SpeedSafe w/ flipper, clip mounting options... this knife has it all! The fact that a portion of the revenue will go to the paralyzed veteran's organization is a big plus, and this knife is MADE IN USA. Enough said.

Can you please check length, width and thickness of the blade? Info on the web is not always accurate.

Thanks, Vassili.
