This is my third knife I've made. The steel is 3/16" thick O1. The handles are Green G-10 (screwed on with flat heads then epoxied over). I cut and finished the blade in my shop, and hardened it in a steel forge I made. Blade is exactly 3", and the OAL is 7". Full Distal taper, full flat ground. Black oxide coated with Tool Black.

This is the second knife I put this handle design on (and not the last). I somehow just got it right the first time, and it fits my hand like I was meant to be holding it. I was going to make two knives in this batch, but I screwed up on my 10" knife, which left me with just 8" left on the piece of steel . So I ended up with this 3" utility knife.

You did a very good job on the handle.

I don't quite understand the "Flatheads" Did you use Flathead Screws / Bolts like you find at Lowe's? Then just grind off the excess?

Thanks for the info.

I used Flathead Cap Screws (size 10-32). We use them all the time for machine building. The are flat on top, and have a taper on the bottom of the head.
