Well, the day has finally come....Shiva Ki called me to tell me that my knives were finally ready. Went by his house to pick them up and was quite pleased w/ my new purchases.

The first as most of y'all know is a Spirit Blade. 8 1/2'' blade and 14 1/2" overall. Dyed Curly maple handle.

The second is a piece he has had in has drawer for about 30 years and never completed, called the Deer Slayer. 5 1/2'' blade and 10 1/4" overall. Beautiful slabs of Curly Maple. There is an inscription on the backside written in Japanese that says "Strong Friendship"

Very Cool!

I have admired the "Spirit" Blade design for some time.

I think the thing I respect about him the most is his understanding of what makes a handle work for swingin around. Organic in an industrial world, but we are too, so...
He's definitely on the right track when it comes to physical considerations of the human interface. Funny thing is he's been doing it so long and no one I've ever heard of has closely emulated, nor refined or improved his approach. I'd love to borrow or otherwise procure one of his larger knives one day for some time on the trail.

Thanks everyone, I really like them both...that Spirit Blade is so light in the hand.

Very cool.
Thanks for sharing and Congrats on both blades, Steven !
I agree, Spirit blades feel lighter than they look.

Love the Spirit blade.

I've been trying to narrow down my next bowie purchase and keep coming back to Shiva Ki blades plus a couple of other makers. I love that he puts a long handle on these things. That's a huge selling point to me anymore.

Very nice!

I have always like the spirit blade and Shiva Ki being such a character makes it always a pleasure to own.
