Just how small is the Hideaway knife?

I'm thinking of getting a HAK, have wanted on for a while. But from the pictures, I have a hard time figuring out just how small a knife it is?

Can anyone post a size comparison pic next to a Spyderco Ladybug, housekey, cigarette, other small standard item?

Thanks,
Mark

Do NOT buy a HAK. Their business practices have been shady at best, illegal at worst. They claim many of their knives were hand-ground by custom makers, when the makers have never touched the knives. They owe money to very many people, and it is suspected that the owner has assumed a false identity after screwing too many people over in order to continue selling knives. This "William" you'll speak with when ordering - do not trust him. I'm sure there are other members who know what I'm talking about.

HideAway Hybrid: It can both stab well like the straight model and has a slight curvature which gives it the cutting power of the claw. This is Mick Strider's favorite shape of the four, and as you can see, he put a bad-ass grind on it.

I know for a fact that Mick has not touched this knife, nor has he ever given his opinion on it.

The entire HAK is roughly the size of a credit card.

I don't disagree about HAK's history, but originally, Frontsite did have the cooperation of several knifemakers. That she never paid them for their work, I have no doubt.

I do own 3 original HAKs ground by Mick Strider, one prototype double-edge that was never offered, and 2 others, including a titanium. These were obtained when HAK was just starting, and were among the first few that Mick ground for the project. He never ground any others since the initial period.

Here is the double-edged prototype, I just took this pic with my phone, so it isn't clear, but the Strider logo is to the left of the HAK hole.

The sharpe edge of most HideAway Knives is 1.9999 inches of sharpened edge - by design based on research of various state laws. The overall form factor including the capsule would generally fit in a 2" by 4" rectangle - to be concealable behind something the size of a deck of cards. The cordura badgeholders are finally in at HideAway by the thousands in Tan with black due in shortly. The HideAway wallet also has a knife pouch. http://www.HideAwayKnife.com

I have one and regret the purchase, crappy heat treatment and doesn't take a good edge. A good alternative is the Emerson la griffe

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who can't get a good edge on one. Too bad, I have the utility version and it's a good design. And I'm glad I bought that one, not a really expensive version. First I've heard about the shady aspects of the business, though.
