Just introducing myself....

I just wanted to introduce myself to the folks here. I've been a fan of ESEE knives for a while now but I don't do alot of forum posting. I only own one ESEE knife currently, but I am very fond of it. It's an RC-5 that Mike personaly sold me (well, he talked me into it and handed it to me, anyhow) at SMKW while I was on vacation last year. He happened to be there for a special event they were hosting and I had the good fortune to meet him and talk knives for a moment. I had been looking at the ESEE knives for while anyhow and having Mike there to talk to about them presented the perfect opportunity to pick one up. My fiance was at the counter with me durring the conversation and she was so impressed with both Mike and the blade that when we walked away she said " You have to buy that knife before we leave. It's perfect for you and that guy was awesome." She was right on both counts and thats exactly what I did. I've recently been reading alot here because I'm thinking of picking up an Izula for her and a H.E.S.T. for myself. Of course now I have to expand the budget because I already love what I've seen of the Izula folder and the Junglas that are forthcoming as well! Anyhow, I decided to post because while doing my research here, I've come across a number of posts by both Jeff and Mike that have furthered my belief that my money is well spent on their products. I also have found myself quite enjoying the rest of the community here and look forward to spending more time getting to know many of you in the future. Who knows, maybe I'll even end up with my own rat pack number someday...I'll probably have to buy alot more knives in order to have that much to talk about though...that would be too bad :)

welcome to the addiction - and don't worry, any tips/tricks on survival or camping are all that's needed to participate in this subforum.
Owning the knives is not a requirement - but they're pretty nice, too, so it never hurts, right? :D

Welcome! When I first came around I didn’t do a lot of posting because I wasn’t an ESEE expert by any means. I read a lot first and now contribute anywhere I can.

What you’ll find is that it’s all about opinions here and sharing our knowledge and skills with one another.

Greetings friend, I too am new here a few days, but it has been gratifying. I am trying to pinpoint my first ESEE for purchase, so i consider you lucky to own one already. Cool story on your purchase btw. It's always nice to meet the maker of anything you invest in.

Enjoy the forum.

Mike

Welcome, and that is one interesting story! the izula is a great knife and for the price you cant go wrong. :D

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome, it's much appreciated.

MPK: While you didn't state the function you were looking for in your first ESEE knife, I'd highly recommend the 5 for most anything other than EDC( it's too big unfortunately). It's been a wonderful knife for me.

Knock it off, I don't "need" a 5! :D

welcome, this community has some great folks and knowledge. Dont worry about what knives to get first or how quickly, eventualy the addiction will take over and you will own all of them maybe some twins. Good things come to ppl who wait. Until then beat it, clean it your 5 will never let you down.

I am new as well and everyone has been very welcoming. Your purchase story is great!

I myself don't know much about camping or building things. Okay to make it plain and simple I couldn't survive the wilderness. I have been camping once in my 22 years but I really enjoy hiking in the woods here (West Virginia has plenty) :D and love to whittle. I really enjoy everybodies stories and pictures. You can learn a lot from reading. That is what I have come to discover. First hand experience is better but just reading about others experiences and stories has really helped me to become better involved here. So welcome to the forum. ;)

BTW you need to get an RC-3 and Izula asap. They work great for many things!
