Hey Doug!

Is the Tanto the one with the San Mai III steel? If so, I would be interested to hear how the edge holds up as you use it.

I was told over in the Knife Reviews section that SM3 is a layered steel (harder inner layer, softer outer layers) and it seems to me it should almost get sharper as you use it, providing you don't nick our gouge the edge.

Hey Gord,

Yup, it is the San Mai III. Unfortunately, I would be arrested if I took it out of it's sheath, or even wore it in UK, it's going to go straight into my collection. Sad, but those are our stupid laws.... at least until next year:)

Regards,

Doug

I think you will be happy with your Tanto.

I have an Orginal 5 3/4" Tanto (Brass Finger Guard and Pummel) that I have had for over 15 years and it still kicks butt and is in great shape.

GAWD! I love the look of that Outdoorsman. I'm really happy they brought that model back from the dead. It is just too doggone useful looking to be shelved.
