Got it today. A large 21. Love he fit and finish. And small details that i keep noticing like the rounded spoke of the blade.

I have two questions.
1). I see people advertise "60% lockup" and such. Mine appears to run about 75%. Does this lockup get worse, or more, over time? If so, how much time?

2). Does the opening get easier as it breaks in? It's very very smooth, especially for a knife this size, but it doesn't open all the way with a flick of the thumb. I know it's a different motion, and requires more force than my barrage I used to carry, just curious if it will get easier without buffing the bushings.

Great choice.

1. They range from 50% to very deep. They used to say 50 to 75% was the spec, but now, it seems that as long as there is no blade play, it is fine. They rarely move, but if it does, no worries unless it wears all the way to the other side and develops play. Many, many people have used them for years and years without issue. Use it, dont worry about it.

2. The opening will get smoother, both due to the ceramic ball wearing a smooth path in the blade, and the washers and bushing breaking in a bit over time. They are not really meant to/designed to be flicked...but as it breaks-in a bit, it will become easier.

Don't forget, "Sebenza" means "work" in Zulu. Use it!

Welcome to the club!

It's not official until you post pictures. :)

Sebbies are nice. I've been swayed. I'll get some pics soon as my ship comes in...uh...my Sebbie.

Arent all barrages axis assist? I know mine is but its the newer 581. Thats pretty much the fastest out the side spring assist on the market. First time i opened mine it flipped out of my hand and did a backflip and hit the floor. CRKs are meant to be smooth manual openers. I messed with mine a bit and can now flick it out so it is possible but hardly a knife to compare to a barrage.

Edit: Congrats on your new blade, post some pics up.

Welcome to the douche club! I have a Large Seb and I love it just because it's design and incredible tolerances so I'm not a douche. After about 6 months of ownership and a very gentle polishing of the phosphor-bronze bushings on my strop, my Seb opens very easily and smoothly. I can flick it open with my thumb with a little wrist action but I don't usually do that. I prefer the long smooth sweep.

Kenny!!! This is not the Sebenza club it's the douche club! You might be a douche too if you bought your Umnum because of the "perceived value" among the CRK brainwashed knife community!!!!

No picture yet cause I havent had time to sit down and upload one at my pc. I'll work on that later today.

No, I'm no douche, I chose this one over the less expensive alias and manual tr3 (says alot as I'm a big protech fan). Well, I don't think I'm a douche. Im sure someone would argue with that hahah.

Yes, this knife was bought to replace three or four that I used to carry. I will still carry my MT UT occasionally because I just love it, but this one will be used. I refuse to spend money on something that will just sit in a closet.

The barrage is an axial assist. Very very nice knife, if not a little thick. But that makes it comfy to hold and use. Yes, it's very easy and fast opening and has me spoiled to speed. Like has been said though, the seb is not a tactical defense knife. I have a CCW, I don't need a defense knife.

Bwahahahaha. Well your right, but if I end up having to use a knife for defense, something went drastically wrong in my planning hahaha.

terrible cell phone oic, but here she is

What a beauty, simple, precision made and soon to be more collectible than ever if Chris really does discontinue it. Congrats!
