Good for you Lad...... you realize you are now doomed;) The FIRE addition is harder to give up than knives........;):D

It is a great feeling of accomplishment for sure. I managed to start a few fires using a bow drill thanks to all the help I received here.

My wife and father in law pissed at me about not "just using a lighter" but your right, there is just somthing about lighting a fire with a little hard work that I find very rewarding.

It's going to be fun on our camping trips now. My friends are in to the windproof lighters and all that stuff. I don't even think they know how to start a fire using naything other than modern technology.

Any of you guys ever use a fire piston? They're a little bulky but there's a coolness about them that justifies the size. It produces a glowing ember in two seconds and you can still use it if (God forbid) you lose your knife.

Good work Justin. Now do it again. :) Practice makes perfect.

Not really.

Keep in mind, while I type that, the desk drawer right in front of me is full of pocket knifes, and my mood/eye strain reduction lighting a couple of candles. :D
