Just messed my Solingen blade up ...with a grinder...barf barf

I tried with my grinder to sharpen my Kris knife and messed the finish up :barf:by mistake of course :barf:
What is that mirror finish and is there anyway to restore it ? :barf:
 
Pixes help. You can sand it back to full polish if you're willing to take the time.
