Just got in a Matriarch 2 with Emerson opener today. This is my first Spyderedge knife.

Lock up is tight, waves open perfect right out of the box, no side to side or up and down play, the edge is incredibly sharp. The tip doesn't seem to me as fine or fragile as reviews make it out to be. Seems like it could handle more than just emergency SD use. Time will tell.

So far I really like it. Light, slim, great handle ergos. (Might need to pick up an Endura ). I'll have it in my righf front pocket tomorrow at work. See how the back lock handles stone dust, sand, pocket lint, and just general crud. :)

Paired with my Military, my daily carry since 28/Nov/2014. (Cell phone pic, sorry :( )

Very nice.

I've balked at getting one, but I think the blacked out Matriarch is next on my list.
 
Thanks. I like it. No problems with the backlock fouling up. The tip is intact, and this knife tore right through a piece of conveyor belt that needed trimming yesterday. :cool:
 
I gifted my brother one last year, he uses it as an everything knife from cutting plastic to checking if the steak is done. It's much tougher than its description and has withstood EDC use without an issue. I plan to get one myself, its one serious cutter.

They are great Jason. I would recommend at least considering the lil Matriarch. I am finding the less extreme tip makes it even more suited to everyday use.
