I've been trying to make up my mind what knife I wanted to buy while I wait for Strider to make a lefty SnG. Today I finally decided to order a Buck Strider Tarani. So, I get onto the New Graham website, find the knife and .........
the bloody thing is sold out! :grumpy:

If I didn't have bad luck I would have any luck at all!

Why don't you go to some other website?
I just knew somebody would try using logic on me. ;)

You are right, I can go to another online seller but I like NGK. Their service and prices are second to none and they ship overseas with zero fuss.

I'll certainly be looking around to see if I can get it at a similar price elsewhere, I just wanted to have a bit of a whinge. :)

Gaj,
Make sure you get one of the new ones, they have actual screws, not rivets, so you can pull em to bits if need be. The newies also have G10 slabs, not plastic.
Theres a couple going on Ebay at the moment from a reputable seller with a buy it now price of $115.00 + $14.95 postage.

Thanks Stockman I'll have a look. I want the plain edge one and they seem to be the ones out of stock. I'm sure one will pop up somewhere.

I am not sure if the newer version ( screws and G10 ) has been released in a plain edge version. If it has, it would be one sweet "abuse me till you buy a Strider" knife.

I emailed NGK and they are hoping that the PE version will be available again in January. Most other websites I've looked at are out of stock too. I guess Buck can't keep up with demand.

I'll have to think of something else for an xmas present to myself!

Thanks door but I'm not sure if it's a PE and, in any case, I'd prefer to buy brand new, I'm a bit funny like that. :)

Also, a lot of people don't like selling overseas and I can understand that.

actually, i just saw it, and it's the old style. so what's the big difference/deal with the new config? i do prefer the plain edge over the combo, but the model i have is great. what am i missing out on?

I'm no expert here but I believe there were some lock troubles with the early models and the latest models have G10 scales. I'm not really certain of any of the details.

I personally don't particularly like combo edge blades but that's just me.

i agree, when it came out, i was dissapointed that it came in only a combo edge, which i dont care for either. and actually the first one i had had a lock that wasnt engaging properly, but i sent it back and the new one is fine. as for the g10 scales, what makes g10 better than the original plastic ones? is g10 a better material?

People seem to suggest it is but I'm not sure exactly why. Maybe somebody with more experience in these things can answer the question.
