After procrastinating for some time now I finally pulled the trigger and bought about $250-275. worth of Concealex and sheath making tools. I pulled everything out this evening to get set up for possibly making my first sheath tomorrow. The press that I bought from Knifekits will not line up to save me! The hole in the toothed shaft is drilled WAY off center. Now I'll have to wait until Monday morning to call them. Has anyone else had this problem? The bolts that I guess (no instructions) are supposed to line it all up are useless.
Well enough of that. Thanks for listening.

I may not be of any help, but I got one of those (I think they only sell one) a couple of years ago and I remember having to figure several things out, also. They really should include at least some basic instructions.

Yours may actually be drilled wrong, but if it's the hole in the bottom end of the toothed shaft, as long as the set screw holds the die in securely, it should work. The other die sits in the round "die holder" (for lack of a better term) that should have come with it, and which can be moved around anywhere on the base of the press.

The bolts up top align and keep the shaft plumb, but can't really move the shaft around to any large degree.

If I'm way off base in what I'm referring to, can you post a photo of the problem?

Thanks Greg. I guess you have to throw away the pin that goes in the bottom of the circular piece. That way you can move it around so it will line up. With the pin in place there is no way it will line up.

Yeah, that piece can't be connected and work right. I'm still not sure how the design came about, though. It seems like the press was made for another purpose and just adapted to this use.

Glad it's working OK. Post some pics when you get some sheaths made.
