I have one of the older Golden Colorado USA Earth made 440V, SE Natives and it's what I consider a "wrecking bar" of a knife. When I have to use a knife in an abusive or very rough manner or in very rough or corrosive environments I always use my 440V, SE Native.
At first I never really liked the knife until I had to use it on a job where I knew I was going to literally abuse the living hell out of the knife. And being at that time it was my least favorite Spyderco that I had. I was very pleasantly surprised at how great it handled all of the abuse that I put it through.
And that 440V ( S60V) blade steel is steel one of my top 10 favorites albeit it is a monster to sharpen. But I personally believe that 440V can take more abuse than most steels.
I'm truly looking forward to a new generation of the Native model. It is truly a brute of a knife it's size and scale.
