Just Neater that all get out...thread

I recently acquired two well used slipjoints (broken/toothpick blades) and although they are almost useless I wonder what stories they could tell.
One is a black Kent jack of some sort with two toothpick blades the smaller is broken off.
The other is a 84OT. The clip blade has a great clip shape but it is 1/2 the original length and the middle blade (sheepsfoot) is broken right at the far end of the nail-nick. The cool thing is the fit and snap of all three blades are still awesome!
I have decided to collect "old soldiers/old friends" and let them just retire in my care. I know they will never tell me their tales but all the same I can kind of imagine........

I go down to an old antique shop locally, and the owner gives me great deals on his old pocket knives, especially the old, broken, worn out ones. He's glad to move them on out; I clean them up a little, get them to where they're nice to look at. Most of what I've found are in such bad shape they have no collector value anyway.

Inheriting my grandfather's old (1940's) Robeson Stockman got me started. Inspired me to start studying what all the different patterns are, where they came from, manufacturer histories, etc. Very interesting stuff.

thx - cpr
