Just noticed this so I have a question to all.

I just got a 2008 small reg sebenza and noticed that the date on the scales were on the bottom and my 2000 small reg. is on the top. Did CRK's change this or does it just depend on who stamps the date? One of those little things that make you go ummmmmm. I only have a picture of the 2000 scale off the knife but I think you can see what I mean.

That is the same location for both of my regular and classic sebbies from year 2000.

Both classics.

The date is in the program for the CNC for the second operation on the scales.

Both my large Regulars are marked at the top near the stand off (00 and 03) and my small Regular is marked at the bottom next to the lock bar spring cut out (07). My Umnumzaans are all marked at the bottom next to the cut out as well. :)

A little off topic, but that is a scale date with a marked "D". I remember there was a recent discussion and it was concluded that the letters indicated which 4 month period of the year the scales were created because no one ever remember seeing a "D" stamp (only A, B, and C).

We'll, here is an exception.

As of now 2003 is top and 2007 is bottom. Hopefully more will report in and we can work out what year was the crossover.
