I'm a long time Benchmade fan, the 810 and 940 hold a special place in my heart, as well as the 480-1 and both sized Ritters. I own quite a few Grips other than the Ritters including some of the G10 limited offerings. I've always loved the 707 based on it's build, but considered it somewhat overpriced, especially after the coupon codes went away. However, I just got a great deal on one and pulled the trigger. My expectation is that it is equal to a mini-grip but with better scales. Will it meet my expectations?

The first two Benchmades I ever got were 707 and 940 in August 2005. Both still work great. The 707 is narrower and thinner than almost anything in the Benchmade product line. It weighs 2.5 ounces and with the aluminum body it's pretty tough. Enjoy!

IMO a nicer blade shape and overall better looking knife than the 556, but worse ergos. If I were to do extended cutting, I'd prefer a mini grip in my hand, preferably the Ritter, over the 707.

Expect an awesome higher end super compact carry. I found it more ergonomic than mini grip.

Expect a really small handle. A lot of blade for that handle. Smoothest BM I've ever owned as well.

That's my take on it as well... Though I prefer the 707 and the standard 556 blade to the Ritter.

Smoothest BM that you've ever owned huh? I like the sound of that. Even though the 707 is somewhat redundant with the mini-Ritter, 480-1, and my CF Caly 3, I'm just really excited to finally be getting this knife. After this I should have a pretty good selection of 3" and under folders so I can go back and start looking for the larger knives that I've been coveting, ie 710, 950, Ruckus amongst others.

Yea, mine was super smooth. I should probably get another for office carry.

The 707 is always a welcome addition among the 3" blade range. Its my 'go to' knife that i slide inside my arm band pocket when going to the gym. Its so thin & lightweight, not to mention a solid feel to it. It also slides nicely in a small sebenza pouch if i want it in the pocket carry. Congrats & enjoy it!

One of my favorite benchmades. Lot of blade considering the handle size. Great compact carry that disappears in your pocket. My only complaint is the aluminum scales so I changed them out

Amazing knife. I find the ergos to be really nice, but dont expect to be able to use the thumb ramp unless you have REALLY tiny hands. I just put my thumb on the spine if I want to hold it like that. Otherwise, its in a hammer grip or some type of modified grip to open packages. Its a very practical size, with just enough blade length to offer excellent capabilities, but small enough to edc just about everywhere. Like others said, this thing is the smoothest BM Ive ever handled. Its just...... SILKY SMOOTH. Almost liquid-like action. Seriously. Opening is zero effort, and closing is even less. Disengage the lock and it falls into the handle with the best sound ive ever heard. Still my favorite edc after several months of owning it. You wont be dissapointed:)

I'm really excited to get this knife now. Tracking says that it will arrive on Thursday, but I'll be out of town until next Monday. At least I'll have something waiting for me when I get home.

707-1201 is my favorite EDC. I put layered CF scales, as the aluminum shows wear very easily. 707 is a great model. Right up with the 940, 710 and grips.

The 707sbk was my first pocket knife. My aunt bought it for me when I became a teenager. I lost it sometime in high school, and about ten years later I bought another one on BF (non-serrated). Love everything about it.

I have a 707 that doesn't get much use. It is silky smooth and I love the look of the G10 inlay in the aluminum but it is just too small for me. I usually prefer a large knife but when I travel to a state with a 3" blade limit this is one of the knives I take with me along with an Emerson Snubbie.
