To be honest, I was a bit disappointed at first when learning about the specs of this knife. I was hoping the CG was going to be the thinner of the two as I'm planning on having the knife modified. What I had in mind was to get the birds beak ground down to a round butt, putting a little more weight at the blade end. I almost pulled the trigger on a LE the night they came out, but decided to sleep on it. Glad I did, because I would have been very hesitant to get it butchered, lol. So... I decided to order a CG and here's what I plan on having done to it!:D

Still gonna have the end of the handle rounded off, but in addition I also want to have a bowie style clip point with a unsharpened false edge. I'm looking to have Bill Siegle do this mod, as I've been very happy with work he's done for me before. Not pictured above... I also plan on having the tang strategically drilled/hollowed out, and the handle scales replaced with one of Bill's epoxy cord wrap jobs. I'm bound and determined to get this heifer slimmed down! In addition to being a good woods knife in this configuration, it should also make a decent thrower.

at .320 thick, you could prolly have bill slice it right down the middle and have two!!

Here's what I originally had in mind if the CG had been thinner...

... then that thread about clip point Steel Hearts got the wheels turning in my head and I thought of a throwing knife I ordered as a Christmas present. The company that makes them is Fort Turner. The throwers pictured below are obviously more forward balanced, but my idea was heavily influenced from this design. I can't wait to get this mod done and test it out!:D
