well am i gonna be happy with it?? ive read good things about it on here, so i'm expecting the best!

Well I don't own one (yet) but I've not heard anything but good things. I bet you'll love it. Let us know!

It's a totally awesome knife.... a good healthy sized chunk o' steel. For some reason, my BK-9 compelled me to name it. I've never had a knife do that to me before. I named it "Mike". I like the steel too... it seems to take a nice toothy edge that responds real well to the Norton stones for resharpening.

Oh yeah, I think you will like it. I got one from a friend 2 or 3 months ago and love it. Not only does it chop good, but it also handles kitchen duty.:) I used mine one weekend to make Roast Beast. - Pot Roast with Carrots, Potatoes and Onions. Last weekend, I took it out chopping and was quite impressed.

It is very cool. It feels like a knife every man should carry if knife laws didn't exist. The bowie size is perfect. I used mine to dice up live lobsters (sorry, that's what Ming's recipe called for).

My "all-around vehicle tool" is the BK9. It's there for whatever adventure might come my way.

Daggerx,

I've been happy with the performance of my BK-9 since I first got it. For the price, you'd be hard pressed to find a better tool. The handle is a bit chunkier than I would have liked but a bit of reprofiling with a file and sand paper solved that dilemma. I think you'll be happy with your selection.

I just used my BK9 to dice up a frozen solid block of ground beef for some sauce. It was almost too easy. The BK9 kicks ass.

If you want to make it look more "tactical" you can take the handle off and do a paracord wrap...looks cool and feels better in my hand.

My BK-9 quickly migrated to the emergency kit in my car. It only gets used every once in a while, but it tends to get used hard. Of course, the BK-9 just laughs at what I consider hard use. ;)

The BK-9 is a great design, well made, from excellent steel. You really can't do much better for a "do everything" knife. You certainly can't come anywhere close without spending several times the money.

Congrats on your purchase!! I've had a BK-9 for a few months now and really like it. Excellent knife, expsecially for the money.
