Should the quality be ok? I have read some stuff recently about the first batch having some problems. I have wanted one for a while now, so I pulled the trigger last night and ordered from NGK. just wondering if the issues have been resolved, if there were in fact issues?

I think you'll be fine. I'm getting ready to order one myself. From everything I read they were just a little rough and still a bit so. I'll see when it's in my hands. I do plan on tweaking it if necessary with some sanding and polishing if that's what it takes. Nice shape, nice size, great steel and some decent CF at a budget knife price - hard to go wrong.

It'll be fine. Mine came with a lot of leftover crud in between the liners so just give it a good cleaning.

I think the first batch was sold as factory seconds at the factory outlet as when I was there they had about 1000. They are made in china and I was happy with the one I had even though it was a second. I think it would make a great EDC small pocket knife that doesnt have a high price tag.

I got mine last month. No problems, fit and finish is fine, knife is sharp, works great. Hopefully yours should be the same.

If I'm not mistaken.... I think they're Made in Taiwan.

I purchased a few Cats and Chicagos....... and from what I can see and heard, is the Laser that cuts the "jimping" did not make "clean" cuts. Also, the Carbon Fiber handles were a little rough around the edges.

Got some B-day money and ordered a Cat today (and a ceramic sharpening stone).

I'll probably round the top edge of the spine and take some of the sharp corners here and there like I did to my Sage CF.
