Just ordered a Leatherman Charge TTi, who has them and why or why don't you like them

I'm wanting to get one of these. I think it'll be better than carrying around a knifeless Fuse + a SAK Pocket Pal.

I own one and it's fantastic, It really makes the Leatherman Wave feel like a cheap piece of crap in comparison, it's so much more comfortable to use the OHO tools on the TTi and the upgraded S30V is a nice change as far as blade steel goes. I haven't yet found a MT that boasts a better load-out of tools than the TTi. You're gonna love it don't worry about it, the TTi is an excellent purchase totally worth the price of admission :thumbup:

For me, the Charge TTi is the best multi-tool ever. Other brands have their good points, I can understand why many folks prefer them, but the TTi satisfies my requirements better than any others I've tried, and there have been quite a few.

After some years of going through a number of multi-tools, including Swisstool, Spirit and several different models of Leatherman, there remains a modest number of Leathermen and SAKs in my rotation. Of these, I consider the Charge TTi my "default" EDC, the one I would keep in the "What If Only One" derby. There are only two things I don't like about it; the combo tool cap lifter doesn't work on most bottles unless one of the handles is folded out (minor) and no awl (for me, major), could have been a deal breaker if I hadn't found an awl mod that fits the pocket clip/lanyard ring slot. Others have noted it doesn't have the same degree of fit and finish found on Vics, but it is still very well made and tough enough for the most demanding uses.

Everything else is great: one-hand opening is a treat and a big help when the other hand is occupied (usually); a quality PE blade that makes carrying a dedicated folder unnecessary (you can if you want :) ); a serrated blade with well done serrations on the proper (right for the right-handed) side; sharp cut screwdrivers, best I've seen on multi-tools; good saw, equal to the industry standard Vic, IMHO; double file with best ever diamond side; bit holder system that allows for unmatched compact versatility; excellent needle-nose pliers that open wide; okay scissors, not up to version 1, but good enough; comfortable grip; and reasonable weight, a good balance between carryability and enough mass to get the job done.

I certainly hope you enjoy your Charge as much as I do mine. :)

It's pretty good. The diamond file is good; it has a pocket clip; knives are decent; pliers work great; handle is comfortable; scissors work well.

On the downside, the internal tools tend to clump and are hard to get out if you don't have slim fingers with metal hooks on the end! I needed to tweak the pivots (with Security Torx bits) to get the tools to all work smoothly. The cap lifter is crap.

If you're not carrying it in the sheath with a bit driver set, bear in mind that the internal tools basically come down to:

* Scissors
* Crap cap lifter/can opener
* Medium flat-head screwdriver
* The large and small bits that you're carrying in the drivers.

The small bit has never served any useful purpose to me, so essentially I always seem to have just the wrong size hex driver on-board — and no Philipps! That means I always end up reaching for a bit driver in my bag… so I'd much rather have saved the space and had a couple of more useful tools on-board, like my old Wave. (Of course, the Wave's screwdrivers clumped like crazy. Bah.)

Think of the Charge as a fat one-handed S30V knife with decent pliers, a saw, and a file, and you won't be disappointed. Or, be prepared to carry the bit kit around with you. For me, that means the Charge is my in-bag multitool (unless I'm using it as my clipped pocket knife), with pocket service being provided by a SwissTool Spirit, keychain Vic, and/or a Juice S2. The Spirit is noticeably slimmer (and I think it's lighter), with a much more handy tool loadout for EDC, IMO.

Best multitool bar none. I have used Leatherman's warantee on a wave (snapped the pliers in half) and they had it back within a week. I carry mine with the pocket clip on my right front pocket (always).

Great multitool. My only complaint is the lack of an awl and TINY scissors. Funny thing, even though I have a Charge TTi, I find myself carrying a Juice XE6 in my pocket and leaving the Charge in the car. The Juice just has more tools than the Charge, and is smaller too.

I keep one in my truck.
I'm an Optician by trade and the small bit adaptar works well for glasses repair.
I use the pliers and small drivers a lot.
The removeable pocket clip sold me though.:o

I like it alot. Pocket clip and one hand blade on the outside of the tool. Not too heavy for pocket carry as long as you're wearing a belt. :o

It's a great multi tool. But I have the wave and the TTi and I usually grab the wave, it performs just as good and it's cheep so I don't worry about thrashing on it

I have one without the scissors, no sheath , pocket clip, or drivers. Bought at a pawn shop for fifty dollars.I wear it in a Leatherman Kick sheath. I love the thing.

Work made it illegal to carry any form of knife in the pocket. They call it "Code Silver." I recently replaced my Xti with a Cabela's Camo Tti because you can't see it on me if I forget to slip it down in the pocket, but anyways, welcome to the upper echelon of multitool. Now, nothing else on the market will satisfy that need for a pocket tool like the Charge. No matter what you buy from here on out, you'll always come back to the Charge. Whenever you get that urge to buy another multitool, no matter how cool, coming from someone who owns a crapload of 'em, supress the urge & save the money. Unless of course you find a good deal on a Sideclip, cause well, everyone should own a Sideclip.

By far the best multitool I have ever used, and I have used them all. The quality, comfort, and reliability can't be beat. Enjoy your new tool and don't be surprised if you end up wanting another to keep in your car, backpack, office drawer, etc.

It arrived 2 days ago and I really like it! Except the scissors don't spring back and the clips flops around everywhere!

I really like my Charge TTi. It's a great model. Feels really comfortable; due to the improved handle shape even better than the Wave. The only thing I don't like is the price, it's 160 euros over here, but fortunately I found a brand new one for 80 euros on a trading site.
