It looks perfect for me, 9" long and beautifully shaped. I understand it's quite "Hand-Made" looking, but that's a plus. Nothing cuts like Damascus. This one cost under 40$

It's cable Damascus. Does anyone have any experience with these knives?

looks nice, but I wouldn't expect much more from it than a pretty Pakistan made knife with poor fit and finish and steel that will barely hold an edge.

Please elaborate.

This is an actual folded-steel knife. I've had other Damascus from India, or Pakistan. They held an edge just fine.

A 9" knife is perfect for me. I carry a fixed blade habitually and 9" plus or minus, is the perfect length to fit under my clothes. I prefer a front-line, horizontal carry.

Oh yes, Damascus has almost a serrated edge (if you looked at it under a microscope). It cuts even when it feels dull, like a steak knife. Sharpened, it cuts like a razor.

What is wrong with you guys? He's excited about his knife. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that you should crap on his parade.

Have some class.

The original Marbles as we know it, does not exist.

What is left is a company name, that is owned by Smoky Mountain Knife Works, if memory serves.

The knives are made in Pakistan. The fit and finish looks good, but I've never used one, just inspected them over the counter.

If you like it and it suits your needs, then fantastic.

Honestly, I would he interested in reading a review on them.

Good luck.

As a side note about Marbles, even though they're not American-made, their machetes are still nice(assuming you can handle that hideous orange coating they use on most of them), since they're made by Imacasa(Condor's parent company) down in El Salvador.

Yup! The machetes are good. The damascus knives are made in Pakistan, the machetes and most of the axes in El Salvador, the rest in China. I'm pretty sure that the traditional knives are made by the same factory that makes Rough Rider but I can't be 100% certain--but Rough Rider is owned by SMKW (or rather their parent org) as well, if memory serves correctly.

Man there are those who just cannot wait to dump on anything not good enough for their personal tastes. If you use that knife I would truly like to know more about it and how well it performs. Please feel free to E mail or Pm me with any and all info. It really looks great...Herb
