After receiving my Hornet and being thrilled with
it I went ahead and ordered a ATFK for about $130
w/shipping. I guess I took a little bit of a risk because I
was not familiar with the "plunge lock" but would
imagine it would be similar to their autos in lockup. Does anyone
have a manual ATFK or even an auto to tell me how the lock up is?
I'm pretty sure it will be a quality knife but was just curious.
I thought a diifferent type of lock over the usual Axis, lock back
and liner would be a nice change of pace...

Here's my quick review of the MOD CQD MK1, not the same of course but close. I'm sure you'll like the ATFK a lot. The lock up is solid and secure as far as I can tell and it definitely has a lot of cool factor. It's one of my favorite locks. You can simply hold the button down and wrist flick it closed and the secondary lock is great as well.

Thanks for the reply. I'm looking forward to getting it. How exactly
does the secondary lock work? I've seen the Lawks system
but I cannot picture how it might work with the plunge lock.
By the way I have a Hissatsu folder on the way too. Nice
review...

I think the secondary lock essentially keeps you from depressing the button. It probably just inserts a strip of metal that keeps the button from being pressed.
Thanks, I try to give a quick and honest overview but it's tough seeing what people want so I make sure people know I'm open to questions. Let me know how that ATFK is when it arrives.

I just got the ATFK and it's a nice little knife! The button lock
seems awesome, I don't know why this lock isn't more popular.
It seems as secure as a Axis lock and the chances of pushing that
button accidentally seems remote. The coil spring is also less
likely to break than the omega spring. It does not have the secondary
lock as described by you Hammer. I don't think it needs it as you have
to push the button in pretty far to get the blade to disengage. It
is smaller than I thought, if there is a negative. I'm glade I can change
it to tip up too!
