How does it look under the handle and buttcap?
I saw it has some kinda proprietary screw fastening?
Is it a rat tail tang...?

It should be similar in design to the S1 Bowie or Trident tangs with the screw thingy.

Not exactly sure though. Wait for Chris to chime in on this...

The tang tapers down from the guard and is threaded at the end for the tension nut, 1 piece of steel. Reduced to fit inside the washers, but full tang. No solder on the guard, the nut holds it all together with tension.

I have a tech bowie, but have never taken off the nut and washers.

I wouldn't even know how to take off the nut, it's not like a regular screw, or allan key or anything.

It's a solid knife, I like it. Be very careful with that tip though. It is very sharp, and very FINE. It will break/bend on you if you get too rough with it.
I have done this twice, the first time I was abusing it, I'll admit. I was throwing it (a very short distance) into cardboard boxes, and the tip hit the floor. The second time I was only stabbing through plastic bottles and cardboard but it bent the tip a tiny bit. I just ran it down a stone and took off the small bent portion, good as new.

That is pretty much spot on.

Just got it. A little smaller than i expected, but dear bejebuz, it's built solid.
The top guard is a little pointy, but i can probably fix that.
Dang near worth the outrageous price i had to pay to get it here.
($245)
I love the buttcap :D

I love the butt cap on my old SG-1, lol, it has come in handy several times. But in all honesty, looking at the Super Bowie and the Agency, I actually like the new spanner nut much better and the fact that it is recessed.

Took the handle off recently and was not pleased

This is how it looks, also on the trident

It seems like someone wanted to saw the tang off but stopped

I am not seeing any saw marks...just looks like there is a little discoloration and rust under where the guard sits.

I don't see that either. It just looks to me like the area of the tang under the guard is unfinished.
Or are you referring to the scratch lines on the tang around where the guard is in the photo?

Hmmm...neither do I. I see machining marks, but no saw or cut thru.

VR, please provide more detail.

Regards,
d-1
