Well, I didnt want to miss an opportunity to get one of these, so I went ahead and ordered an AG Russell Acies...

Technically I put it on Lay away with a 25% deposit. But I plan on paying the rest off before February so it should be here by my birthday (Feb 3rd)

First a ZT 551, and now an Acies! Good start to 2012!

So how about some pics if ya got em, or a word or two about the Acies (or how you pronounce it, girl on phone said it AY-Sis, but Ive heard uh-CHEE-is, uh-SEE-is, and ay-SEE-is)

A Keys? Don't recall the pronounciation, but it's a cool enough folder. Pics when you gt it;)

Acies is Latin for "edge." It can also mean a battle line in military contexts (think of Roman legionary formations).

The classical (Roman) pronunciation is "ah-KEE-ays." The ecclesiastical (church Latin) pronunciation is "ah-CHEE-ays."

Congrats on your purchase -- at last report, there were only a dozen left.

The Acies is a super design with f&f and warranty that's easily the equal of its best competitors.

For my taste, it's just a bit large for my pocket-carrying. So I tried it without the clip and the Acies now fits perfectly in a Sack-Up silicone-treated knife pouch for protection, storage or pocket-EDCing.

I eagerly await the forthcoming smaller version this year with a 3-inch blade.
