I could not deny all the good reviews of HI khukuris, so I just ordered an M43. Hopefully they have one with a bone handle. Looking forward to it.

Does anyone know of any quality videos on safety techniques? By quality I mean someone wjo actually understands safety - the right, proper, wise techniques to use for chopping, clearing, etc. I'd prefer not to land a blade in my shin or thigh because I didn't know that one thing everyone is supposed to know about these tools. Done that with hatchets, no fun.

This will be for me and my 18 year old son, one of us gets the HI and the other gets the other khukiri I have from the other major place.

Thanks!

Congrats on scoring one of the best khuk out there from H.I!
By kneeling down in front of the log you have good clearance on chopping. That way whenever the khuk lands it's on the log and not you. I've seen the local Nepalese did that with a khuk.

I believed Ankerson did a video together with his Busse NMFFBM vs HI CAK on that position.

Thanks for the info, I looked up Ankerson's videos, very good. Thanks also Qeth, I read through that thread, just want to make sure I understand it all by seeing. Short of doing, seeing is best in my opinion. I got my order confirmed by Yangdu and am looking forward to it. I asked for a horn handle on mine, and there is a shpment due any day, so hopefully I'll have a Khuk soon!
